These quickie retellings of "Rapunzel," "Beauty and the Beast," and "Toads and Diamonds" play second-fiddle to illustrator Laite's blue-infused compositions. The tales zip through their basic plots, while the art conveys mood and setting. The stylized pictures have mid-century style, but this reissue isn't a necessary purchase for folktale collections.
