Get the facts on an array of aquatic creatures and discover the unexpected ways humans and fish are similar in Just Like Us! Fish. Appealing mix of photographs and cartoon illustrations.
What animal uses stilts, has roommates, finds safety in numbers, and even gets skin treatments at the spa? FISH! While they might seem as different from humans as animals can possibly be, we actually have a lot in common with our underwater neighbors. From hunting to homemaking to dressing to impress, fish are a lot like us—though with fascinating twists all their own.

Factual, funny, and featuring a dynamic mix of photographs and cartoon illustrations, Just Like Us! Fish will charm even the most reluctant nonfiction readers.

Preschool-G These installments in the Just Like Us! series take a stab at demystifying the natural world by pointing out behaviors that will likely be recognizable to young readers. Fish may not have lungs or legs, but they're not as different from people as they seem: in Fish, mud skippers and sharks illustrate the importance of breathing for underwater denizens, porcupine fish and electric catfish demonstrate ways these creatures use armor, and seahorses and cichlids show the attentiveness of fish parents. Occasionally, the photos can get lost in the mayhem, but the intriguing information should pique plenty of interest, and the source notes and glossary in the back matter nicely support the concepts.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2018, American Library Association.)
